Giardiniera: The Amazing Spicy Topping for Hot Dogs, Sandwiches, Pizza, and Everything

Have you been to Chicago and had Italian Beef sandwiches and wondered what those spicy peppers on it were called? That was Giardiniera. And whenever I get a hankering for it, where can you get it? Gordon’s Foods and Meijer has it. So does Jerusalem Bakery and World Market at Frandor. World Market also has Muffuletta Mix which is similar, but more of a New Orleans flavor.

There are multiple kinds, but the Chicago style is one of the best. This stuff is great on all kinds of sandwiches, Italian Beef sandwiches, hot dogs or sausages, and even on pizza.

There is also an Italian and California style, but the chunks are much larger so they are more of a side dish or appetizer of sorts.
